Last week in Review

Monday- 4.11 miles

Tuesday- Tried to do weights/cardio, but my back was not having any of it. Every time I bent over with the weights, I would get a sharp pain on the right side of my lower back.  Did what I could without weights, than opted for a 30 min stationary bike ride.

Wednesday- It was raining outside,so my running partner decided to do a Jillian DVD. I decided to just do the bike for 30 min and  the elliptical for 30 mins.  I had a chiro appt after work today.
Thursday-It was still raining outside, but I decided not to do to much, since I had just gotten  a treatment last night. So I just did the bike for 30 min and 30 min  on the elliptical.  Back was still feeling kind of sore.

Friday-  4 miles - No rain this morning, so I was hoping to give running a try.  We just went slow and steady. My back was feeling pretty good.  No Pain. YAHOO.

Saturday - Was hoping my back was still feeling good, because this morning we were suppose to do 10 miles, but instead we ended up doing 13 miles. My back was feeling really good, so we just kept going.

Sunday - 3 miles -I thought I would, just go in to town and do an easy 3 miles.  The first mile was an  average pace for me, than for some reason I thought I would just push myself to see how I would do. My splits were 9.24,9.02,8.46.   Where in the HECK did that last split come from. BOY, I was huffing and puffing when I got done. Just when I didn't think I had it in me I  pull it out some how.  Boy,  I was glad I pushed myself.

Last Tuesday, my son had an FFA Banquet.  This was our last school activity, until  Graduation Day in May.  I'm starting to  have some mix feeling, about my baby boy graduating .
FFA Banquet - Mike,Parker and Me

About 5 years ago we planted some fruitless pear trees, that line both sides of our driveway.  My twin sister has these same trees lining here driveway. GO FIGURE, we are twins.   She planted her trees about 12 year ago. Her trees are a lot  bigger than mine.  I love watching these tree bloom.  Beautiful trees and green grass, just doesn't get any better than that.

Enjoying  my beautiful trees.

It's that time of year when I have to start mowing. I mowed for the first time last Saturday.  I love keeping  my yard looking nice.  As you can see, mowing for me is not just an hour or two, it takes me around 4 hours to mow an around 2 hours to weed eat. Mowing at my house is pretty much a full days work.  I wouldn't want it any other way.  When I get it all  done, I love to go  sit on the front porch and just admire my beautiful lawn.

Don't forget to enter my Handful Bra Giveaway - ends 4/8

Have you started mowing your lawn yet?

Do you have any children graduating this May?

  1. What a huge lawn to mow! Ours is pretty big too, I think it takes about 2-3 hours to mow and 1 hour to weed eat. I have not started mowing yet, but I am sure in another month it will be time to start!

Gotta love the blue FFA jacket! He is looking pretty good in his, I can't even imagine my boy graduating, I am having a hard enough time with him getting ready to go to kindergarten!

  2. Wow--that's lots of lawn to mow! We haven't started, but, ahem, it's time! Congrats to your son. Must be very bittersweet to be approaching that milestone. I'm weepy over my son going to middle school!

  3. We have no lawn. It is soo dry here that my so called lawn is brown and sticks to my dog. :/ No one graduating yet!

  4. LOVE the trees! Beautiful!!! And great job with the running. Love all the pics! :)

  5. Your son looks so sweet! Im dreading my middle one going to kinder so I can only imagine the whole graduating thing. Makes me sad...Great run btw- you SO have it in you to keep pushing those 8 minute miles! Whoo Hoo! BTW I so cracked up at your bra post, thinking about how akward it must have been to get the right picts taken and the angles needed! HA!

  6. There's nothing more beautiful than a tree-lined driveway or road in my opinion. I've already had to mow twice! Unless the grass slows down weekly grass cutting has begun!

That's a great picture of you guys at the FFA Banquet!

  7. How do you feel about FFA? Sometimes I want to get involved with them (well my students anyways), but I wonder how receptive they are to folks who want small scale, urban farms.

  8. what a proud Momma with her future-graduate son! I can't imagine that day with my boys, I have one graduating from preschool in May and I'm a wreck! LOL!

love the family pic at the FFA banquet! my husband said he had those banquets all of the time, he loved all of it!

its been raining all too often around here, we're ready for some sunny days that'll make for some great outdoor fun and exercise!

    2. Let's try this again. Sorry!

I do have one graduating this June :) I am not sure that I am ready for it though! I find myself wondering how the heck he grew up so fast?! It's bittersweet I think.
